Federal Skilled Worker

As one of the most popular immigration programs in Canada, the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) effectively brings thousands of immigrants to Canada each year. It provides an opportunity for individuals and their families to immigrate to Canada if they meet the FSWP Eligibility Requirements.

Federal Skilled Worker applications are assessed based on the applicant’s ability to become economically established upon arriving in Canada.

Minimum requirements to apply as a Federal Skilled Worker:

Express Entry

The fastest way to enter Canada is Express entry. It manages PR applications for three economic class immigration programs as follow:
 

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program

  • Federal Skilled Trades Program

  • Canadian Experience Class


Its a point-based grading system - including language, education, work experience, age, job offer, and adaptability. In this Applicants receive the points based on a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

Though a job offer is not compulsory but it increases points for sure. Applicants scoring equal or above cut-off are awarded an invitation to application (ITA).A provincial nomination also increases points. Provincial governments also pick up from express entry as per process..


 

Express Entry profile requires following documents: 
 

  • Passport with minimum validity of 6 months

  • IELTS Language test results

  • Educational credential assessment report

  • Provincial nomination

  • Written job offer from an employer in Canada, proof of work experience, certificate of qualification in a trade occupation issued by a Canadian province or territory

  • Proof of financial backup

If accepted you get into the pool of candidates. Ranked in the Express Entry pool using a points-based system. The highest scores in the pool will get an invitation. Within 90 days you may submit you application for permanent residence.
